Really Strategies and Wingspan Technology Partner on CQ's Multi-Congress Project

As Congress Changes, so does Congressional Quarterly's Content Management System

LANSDALE, Pa.–October 10, 2000–Congressional Quarterly (CQ), a leading publisher of governmental news and information, identified a need to change its content management system, the Universal Data Repository (UDR), to allow its editorial staff to simultaneously manage data from two Congresses in response to the upcoming elections. To oversee the "Multi-Congress" project and implement the appropriate modifications, CQ has retained a team led by Really Strategies with key development support from Wingspan Technology.

"We need to allow our editorial staff to manage content on the outgoing 106th Congress and the incoming 107th Congress during the coming months and into the future," said Mike Connelly, vice president of operations at Congressional Quarterly. "Our current system does not allow for this workflow approach, and we are relying on the team from Really Strategies, Wingspan, and internal CQ resources to implement changes in the UDR to create an easy and effective way for editors to make these changes. Implicit in the project is also the need to maintain data integrity."

"With a deadline that certainly cannot be missed, it's important for us to quickly identify the requirements, pull together the appropriate development resources, and implement the updated version of the UDR in a manner in which current editorial workflow will not be interrupted," added Lisa Bos, executive vice president of consulting services for Really Strategies.

"The mission critical nature of the Multi-Congress Project requires careful coordination and flawless execution by all parties involved in the effort. We have been very pleased with how well our development methodology and resources have fit in with the entire project team. The client can be assured of success with this type of execution," said Oris Stuart, senior vice president, Wingspan Technology.
