“Really Strategies provides us with the third-party expertise we need.”
LANSDALE, Pa.–January 19, 2006–In its ongoing effort to strengthen support for specific publishing and media verticals, Really Strategies Inc. hired Michael Edson, previously vice president and director of publishing technology at Houghton Mifflin Company. Michael is Really Strategies' new practice director for educational publishing services and helps Really Strategies' clients with content technology initiatives in the educational publishing arena, including relevant business strategy definition; electronic product strategy and development; and editorial, design, prepress, and print manufacturing processes and technologies.
While with Houghton Mifflin Company, Michael developed and implemented the content systems strategy for the School Division and significantly influenced company-wide content systems strategy. He has long been involved with electronic product development both as a developer and a business strategist, having completed work on such diverse products as the Kennedy School of Government's "Subway" interactive case study and "Introducing James Joyce's Ulysses" electronic reference product for the James Joyce Center at Boston University.
Really Strategies is deepening its commitment to specific publishing verticals by hiring strategy, technology, and operations experts who understand first-hand the challenges faced in today's increasingly competitive publishing markets. "Really Strategies' practice directors have hands-on experience with technical and strategic requirements in specific publishing markets," stated Really Strategies president and CEO Barry Bealer. "Having a seasoned strategic consultant such as Michael lead the educational publishing practice allows us to strengthen our commitment and services to help publishers in this marketplace."
