“Really Strategies provides us with the third-party expertise we need.”
In each issue, this section focuses on a different content management-related product, providing an overview of information specifically targeted to publishers.
Documentum began in 1990 by offering one of the first document management systems, and continues to lead the charge in this field. By incorporating workflow, search and retrieve, versioning, security features, and a distributed content model with a central repository, their core document management system supports the entire content life-cycle from creation through distribution.
Bolstered by a series of recent acquisitions, Documentum has strengthened its position as a true enterprise content management system. The suite of Documentum 5 offerings includes packaged solutions – quick-setup components such as web content management, digital asset management, collaboration, compliance, and a trusted content system. In addition, they offer more customizable content applications, which provide seamless integration points with existing systems such as ERP and CRM to provide access to Documentum-managed content within these applications. This, combined with their intuitive desktop and web-based interfaces and support of multiple types, makes Documentum an ideal solution for publishing companies looking for many of these CMS periphery items out of the box.
At a time when many content management vendors are struggling to meet the bottom line, Documentum has posted strong earnings in 2002, including third-quarter revenue of $56 million, a 24% increase over the same period last year.
