Constructing a Complete Online Learning Management System

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins

Background: Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), a leading medical publisher and information services provider and part of Wolters Kluwer Health, required support with implementation of thePoint, a course and content management platform for educators and students in the nursing, medical, and health professions. LWW's thePoint enables flexible online course development, administration, and content delivery to customers as an extension to LWW's textbooks. With thePoint, LWW is moving from being an educational content provider to being an e-learning partner for its customers, providing not just content, but a complete on-line learning and course solution.

Strategy: Really Strategies' consultants leveraged their instructional design experience to create and execute customized training program's targeting the sales, marketing, production, editorial, and technical support teams. The goal was to build a broad base of deep understanding throughout the entire organization in order to ensure a successful product launch and customer rollout. Additionally, Really Strategies developed and implemented a User Acceptance Test Plan to validate ancillary content for more than 100 LWW textbooks that were loaded into thePoint and to verify functionality on both Windows XP and Mac OS platforms.

Result: Really Strategies enabled LWW to
