“Really Strategies provides us with the third-party expertise we need.”

Background: Philadelphia-based and independently owned F. A. Davis Company publishes a wide variety of books and software for nursing, medicine, and health professions. F.A. Davis recently implemented an XML-compliant web interface, or Content Browser, that facilitates editorial review and the production process for two of its core print and electronic products.
Strategy: F.A. Davis Company Publishers hired Really Strategies to update its Content Browser and enable additional reporting functionality that helped editors and publishers identify the exact status on any of its more than 2000 files. Both editors and authors rely on the Content Browser to perform daily activities. Hence, any updates to the Content Browser could not disrupt editorial or production cycles.
Result: Really Strategies built report functionality into Davis's Content Browser that inherently involved addressing major workflow issues. As a result, content was managed and tracked for multiple delivery points; thus, increasing productivity and decreasing editorial stress. Additionally, the Content Browser still allowed authors to stick to their established schedule with no disruption to their workflow.
"Traditionally, there is always a crunch time in the production cycle for two of our key products. Updating the report functionality
in our drug guide Content Browser minimized the difficult tasks associated with the production cycle, allowing us to focus
on what we do best: provide quality healthcare content."
Ralph Zickgraf, director of electronic publications at F.A. Davis
