Creating a Promotional Speakers Services Web Site and the System to Support it:

DesignWrite

Background: DesignWrite, part of Jobson Medical Information, provides clients with high-quality scientific programs, promotes trends in diagnosis and therapy in support of existing client products, and implements effective product launch and market expansion programs. DesignWrite assists its customers in developing integrated medical communications programs, building marketing platforms and publication strategies, and in designing and delivering educational programs.

Strategy: DesignWrite hired Really Strategies to support the development for one of its client's speaker's bureau web site. The web site will allow designated personnel to create requests for local or national speaking engagements, search for speakers based on multiple criteria, and manage the financial results of activities through online reports. The site's extensive functionality required search capabilities, approval workflow, security and user privileges administration, and budgeting and financial reporting. Additionally, the project had to be completed in 90 days.

Result: Really Strategies provided a high-level manager with previous project management experience and success in software development environments. Really Strategies was also able to augment the in-house development staff with two developers proficient in the client's technology platform (.NET, Java, SQL Server, Visual Basic, XML, HTML). In addition to managing the daily activities of the development team, and performing status reporting as required by both DesignWrite and the customer, Really Strategies quickly developed a functional specification for the required customizations and received customer approval for the changes. Working with the DesignWrite technical lead and the development team, Really Strategies directed the overall technical design and architecture of the proposed system. The system was successfully launched 10 weeks after project inception and the Really Strategies team was retained to identify, specify, develop, and manage several significant enhancements to the system.

"Our client, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the US, required a functional speaker program that involved more than 2,000 field sales representatives, more than 800 speakers, and over 80 lecture topics. Really Strategies managed this project and the budget and delivered on schedule."
