American College of Physicians
Requirements Analysis
Background: The American College of Physicians (ACP) is the nation's largest medical specialty society. The College publishes journals and books and provides timely information to its 115,000 members via its web site. ACP-ASIM developed a content management strategy with the goal of developing more effective processes for delivering existing and new products to its membership.
Solution: ACP-ASIM hired Really Strategies to assess its strategy and implementation approach and reveal whether this strategy was consistent with current industry trends. Really Strategies conducted 10 interviews with key stake holders and content handlers to understand current workflow processes along with goals that addressed ACP-ASIM's short- and long-term goals for an enterprise-wide content management (CM) strategy. ACP-ASIM shared documentation that detailed content lifecycle, current software in use, content workflow, content architecture, and their proposed strategy for the next phase of CM strategy implementation.
Result: Really Strategies conducted a month-long assessment program to fully understand ACP-ASIM's short- and long-term CM strategy. A 28-page assessment report was delivered that detailed observations, recommendations, and sample documentation that would enable a successful implementation plan. Additionally, Really Strategies presented their findings and recommendations and conducted a question-answer session to ensure the detailed recommendations were fully understood by content stakeholders and corporate executives.
